World Encounter serves the working poor in the developing world through holistic community development. We nurture personal and community transformation through economic and social development, as we strive to alleviate material and spiritual poverty in rural villages. Women involved in our microloan program experience a growing sense of dignity, self-reliance, and confidence. Participating in lending circles fosters accountability and personal development and a vested interest in each other’s success; creating a ripple effect of generosity that extends to families and villages.
Our goal is to see women and the villages they live in transformed in all aspects of their lives and relationships. Self-sufficiency and freedom from the effects of abject poverty are central to our mission.
