Use Your Professional Skills for Global Good: Volunteer with the MINN Summit
A volunteer role on the MINN Summit team is rewarding and provides the opportunity to strengthen your skills, build a stronger network, and broaden your understanding of the international development industry. The committee meets monthly with additional volunteer commitment between 2-5 hours per month. The MINN Summit team is looking for individuals to volunteer in the following roles:
The Summit vice-chair will work with Summit leadership to ensure the Summit planning process is timely and well-managed. This position will also play a key role in the strategic vision and high-level organization for the IDEA Summit. Responsibilities include:
- Manage the timeline & progress of 1 or 2 subcommittees
- Opportunity to help with soliciting sponsorships, finding keynote speakers, and evaluation
- Provide high-level strategic direction to event
- Requires 2-5 hours/week
- This position is great for someone who is looking for a leadership opportunity
The Speakers co-lead will help support the process for finding speakers, drafting an RFP, reviewing applications, and coordinating speaker breakout sessions for the Summit. This is a great position for someone who is comfortable with communication, coordination, and is looking to expand their networks in the international development sector.
Marketing & Communications Co-Lead
The marketing team is responsible for the external vision and messaging of the Summit. The team will put together the communications and social media strategy, develop content, create marketing materials, and write articles for the MINN newsletter and website. Light graphic design experience is a plus.
The Summit Fellowship aims to engage underrepresented voices and communities in our network. The fellows co-lead will drive the recruitment, application review process, planning the Fellows spotlight event, and creatively engage with the fellows throughout the year. This role is ideal for someone interested in expanding their networks and making meaningful connections with new people.
The logistics co-lead will support the logistics of the IDEA Summit. This role will largely manage the relationship with the Humphrey School of Public Affairs, and coordinate food, materials, etc.
Our registration team is responsible for managing the registration process for the IDEA Summit. This position will interface with both MINN leadership and Summit registrants to create a smooth registration process for the event.
This year, we are hoping to expand our outreach around promoting our event. This position will assist in strategically driving our outreach efforts and being accountable to ensure our message reaches the right groups of people. This is a new position, with room for creativity and flexibility.
