MINN Roundtable Forum a Success Again
Midwest International NGO Network (MINN) held another in a series of Roundtable Forum on August 11th at the Common Hope Conference Room in St. Paul. This was the latest Forum in a new series of Roundtables that MINN has begun in 2009. The idea behind the Roundtable Forum is to bring together International NGO practitioners in the Twin Cities to discuss relevant topics related to their day-to-day work.
The first of the series was a discussion on how to better communicate with our projects around the world. The discussion was led by Kristin Antin of Center of Victims of Torture. The second in the series held on August 11th was on the topic of "How International NGOs Can Create Meaningful Experiences for Donors" the session was led by Therese Gales of ARC and Stephanie Stuart of WomenVenture. This topic sprouted from a discussion at the 4th annual "MINN at Work" held on June 30th at the offices of ARC. The early response to second Roundtable was fantastic with the event being booked to capacity almost 2 weeks before the forum. The Roundtable covered the topics of: Strengthening donor connections to your organization; Making the best use of donors at international sites; Enhancing your organization’s relationship with international sites. The discussion was broad and all the participants gained some insightful information from each other's experiences.
The next Roundtable Forum will be tentatively held on Tuesday October 13th on the topic of Standardizing Operations.
