MINN to the Max: Donate for Give to the Max Day!
My colleagues and I at the Minnesota International NGO Network (MINN) just celebrated the 7th iteration of our signature annual event on Friday, November 1st: the MINN Summit! Bringing together almost 250 individuals with speakers and exhibitors representing nearly 30 organizations, this year’s Summit embodied our core purpose: providing a forum (in this case, literally) for international practitioners and supporters based in Minnesota to learn, network and exchange professional expertise in an effort to do global good better.
And this year’s event went a step further than Summits past. Our members and partners were provoked and challenged by all our presenters, but most especially our keynote speakers, PopWorks Africa’s Stephanie Kimou and AMO Enterprise’s Abdul Omari, to think critically about how international programs designed to improve lives can’t truly succeed until the perspectives of those living those lives are put before our own biases. We’re humbled and energized to keep the discussion on decolonizing international development going.
This thanks to the support of donors like you!
Important discussions like this only go so far if we can’t continue to build on MINN’s mission. I’m proud of the fantastic progress we made this year, including the launch of our new membership program, an expansion of our MINN Fellows program (thanks to the generosity of the McKnight Foundation), and a swath of great events. Today, I’m asking our supporters to help us end our year on a high note as we move into 2020, our fifteenth year (!) as an organization.
With Give to the Max Day coming up on Thursday, November 14th, we just launched our MINN to the Max campaign. We’ve set a goal of $2,020 to mark our upcoming birthday - please donate today and help us reach $2,020 for 2020!
Contributions to MINN support an organization without paid staff that is driven by almost 30 volunteers under the guidance of a working Board of Directors. Your support to this campaign will help us keep membership resources like our MINN Directory and our Global Report up to date. It will ensure opportunities for Minnesotans working for the global good to share their ideas and leverage the creativity and passion of the community.
MINN’s success isn’t possible without our members, partners, and supporters. To thank the people who make MINN work, our board members will match 50% of all funds raised by our supports during this campaign.
With your support, MINN can keep bringing together critical - by multiple definitions - voices to inspire and challenge the dedicated Minnesotans having a global impact. Thanks for your partnership and support!
Please give to MINN to the Max today! Any amount of support is appreciated.
