Join the University of Minnesota Law School's Center for New Americans from 4:00pm - 7:30pm on Thursday, October 13th for the FREE event Immigration Nation: Writing Our Next Chapter. This event will recognize the work of the Center for New Americans and its partners and will feature a panel of distinguished experts. During the discussion, panelists will consider the positive contributions of immigrants in Minnesota and the regional implications of national and global migration trends. The panel will also discuss how to protect immigrants' rights locally amidst national deadlock on comprehensive immigration reform and growing anti-immigrant sentiment.

Speakers include:

  • Jaylani Hussein, Executive Director, Council on American-Islamic Relations Minnesota
  • Kalia Abiade, Advocacy Director, Center for New Community
