“A key challenge in successful financial management is getting finance and program staff to work together toward the same goal”, www.mango.org.uk

CliftonLarsonAllen LLP (CLA), a professional services firm that works with international NGOs, hosted a lunchtime seminar with MINN on April 4, 2013, at their downtown Minneapolis office to share helpful tools and insight on conducting an internal audit.

MINN is in the process of planning its1st Annual MINN IDEA (International Development Exchange and Action) Summit, to be held October 25th, 2013 and we're recruiting people like you to make it a success!

Twelve participants came together on March 1, 2013, to discuss how to effectively balance work and life in the context of doing international work. The lunchtime seminar was led by Ms. Bistra Zheleva, Vice President of International Programs, Children’s Heartlink, and held at the Hennepin County Library in St. Louis Park.  Bistra initiated a lively hour-long discussion by asking why we do international work. Responses generally included an opportunity to apply skills and knowledge to global challenges in hopes of making a difference; and a desire to gain global perspective that comes from knowing people from other countries and learning about their culture, politics, language, history, and food.

Greetings,

I am this year’s (volunteer) President of what we hope will be a stellar year of growth, opportunity and endless professional networking for MINN members. Just a little about myself…I am a recent MPA grad from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs with a focus in global health, human resources, food, sustainability and agriculture.
