Communications across international lines can be difficult. The MINN Roundtable on International Communications—hosted over the lunch hour on Thursday, March 27, 2014, at the African Development Center—offered a perfect opportunity for communications professionals to discuss success and potential improvements to communications programs at their respective organizations.

Following are details about the US Russia Innovation events that may be of interest to community based groups and non-profits in Minnesota. We are excited about the large number of participants that will be coming from community-based social, economic, and environment projects in Russia and know this will be an invaluable opportunity to deepen relations between the people of our two great countries and between key groups here in Minnesota and in Russia.
 

It is a new year and the MINN Education Committee is ready to get started with our first event of the year. The Education Committee will host a communications round table on March 27th. The event is a brown bag discussion for communication professionals focusing on the challenges of international programming. We will answer questions such as: How to obtain riveting stories from the field when you do not have communications staff abroad?  How do you solicit and cultivate the many types of stories needed for the different types of media used?

Are you currently studying philanthropy, development, or finance?  Looking to gain valuable experience in areas of fundraising such as grant writing?  Then join our Philanthropy Committee! We meet once a month to discuss potential funding streams that will contribute to the growth of MINN’s mission and value as well as the basic operational and strategic needs of the organization.
