MINN IDEA Summit - Friday, October 16, 2015
Fostering Minnesota's Global Engagement
Friday, October 16, 2015
Location: Humphrey School of Public Affairs
The International Development Exchange and Action (IDEA) Summit, MINN’s annual flagship event, is designed for all international practitioners whose focus is assisting others and doing global good. The full day conference provides inspirational, educational and networking opportunities for leaders from nonprofits, foundations, donor groups, the private sector and educational institutions.
The IDEA Summit explores topics such as measuring results, building local partnerships, creative funding mechanisms, branding, communication and new development trends. In addition to breakout sessions, networking with like-minded practitioners will be a large component of the day.
The theme of the third annual MINN IDEA Summit is Fostering Minnesota’s Global Engagement. With Minnesota’s historically rich cultural identity, the Summit aims to host a dialogue on methods to use this diversity to foster new connections and the exchange of ideas among practitioners working in NGOs, nonprofit organizations, and the private sector.
Join MINN and keynote Vice President Walter Mondale for a dialogue on international refugee issues, including Minnesota's role in this arena, both past and current, and more. The conversation will be moderated by Dr. MayKao Hang, President and CEO of the Amherst Wilder Foundation.
Through this online registration you will have the opportunity to select the specific breakout sessions that you prefer to attend. Please select your first and second preferences for each breakout period. Due to room occupancy capacities, not all attendees will be able to attend their first preference, though we will do our best to place you in one of your preferred choices. You will receive final confirmation of the breakout sessions for which you are registered when you check into the Summit. Read the full descriptions of the breakout sessions.
The IDEA Marketplace allows Summit participants an opportunity to learn about Minnesotan organizations conducting international development work abroad, educational and professional development opportunities for practitioners, and social entrepreneurs providing products or services of interest to international NGOs. View participating organizations.
Lunch will be offered onsite. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options will be available. In order to accommodate for their additional responsibilities, Marketplace participants will have an opportunity to reserve a box lunch when they register online.
